Ah man... makes me wish I had loads of work! I don't think a trade would be wise for me, though I DO love those pieces. I still depend on my paintings for precious income!
Susan. So nice to see you last night! I just looked through your photos, and I really like your stuff. Most of the pieces I have already seen, but looking at them again reminded me of how much I really like them. Hope you're having fun at the anagama!
yo - when ever is the soonest you can get the bowls to CU is good wit me. I think (or imagine) I would like to do a glaze firing this Friday in and around the anagama - otherwise early next week - i.e. Monday.
Hey Susan,
Thanks for checking out me junk!
The pink fabric is a pink croc skin vinyl that I found in the garment district of Philly. Big learning curve trying to sew, might have to revisit that one. The hanging pieces are steel that have been scribed, punched, spray painted, and covered with a color-shift pearlescent clear coat.
Good to hear from you...hope you are Rockin it out!

indeed we do have a box for your use. What is the best way to get it to you? Can I leave it near you/your place/job site on my way to Clemson Monday? I finished my cone box pieces today (glaze fired) and will be submitting too. What fun. Yes to bowls as you can get them. Go for the soda!
of course! Glad you asked, it will cause me to focus that way - been wanting/needing to get some pieces made for soda. I figure late February - that gives 4 weeks to make, bisque & glaze. Are you needing just a few pieces or a lot of space?? btw I realized Monday I had blown it for your self portrait thing at the art bomb. Tue & Thurs are an all day teaching affair -
the bowl-a-thon is next Friday. time to get that moving again. I know you are at your day job, but if not - come along.
yes - I would certainly like to get some food & drink Wednesday - late afternoon or evening would be best I think - I get to tomorrow morning and be able to figure that out.
Are you going to be at the artbomb tomorrow anytime? If so I will swing by and take a look at what is going on. If not maybe some other time this weekend. The long exposure could be that your digital negative is too dense. The curve that I gave you works for my situation, it sounds like it needs to be tweeked a bit to work for yours. I can do it I just need to see your digital negative. Anyway let me know, I'll bring the contact frame as well.

Hey forgot to mention don't agitate very heavily. Just kind of let it soak till the "yellow" is gone. That also can wash away a lot of your image.

Sound like the paper you are using has too much sizing in it. It won't allow the solution to soak in. Are you buying watercolor blocks of paper? They generally are heavily sized. I would suggest buying it by the sheet (30x40) and tearing it down. I have also had good results for smaller images on 8.5x11 100% cotton stationary papers. Cranes, Southworth, etc... The only thing is that during coating they tend to curl some and have to be flattened back out. I just roll the paper on the back side over a sharp corner to reverse the curl. What are you using as a contact frame? I have an old one that you can use. It would allow you to check exposure without having to develop to see if it worked or not. Just let me know if you want it.

I can't come to any of the First Friday stuff, nor be present at my own studio because I'm going to Jenny and Courtney's reception out here at school. They're my peps! I wouldn't miss it for the world. Can't be in two places at once, though I've tri…
Blue is sometimes not an easy color to make.
Blue pigments of the past have often been expensive (ultramarine blue was made from the gemstone lapis lazuli, ground up), poisonous (cobalt blue is a possible carcinogen and Prussian blue, another well-…
