cooling kilns,demos and wisdom?

Just finished a demo and talk for the Clay grads here. I statrted with Chun Yuan interpreting but soon it bercame all hands gestures and mime. It was fun..i enjoyed it although I'm not sure how much was understood. Sam ...well he's heard alot of it before so he had to laugh at the food and pottery stories ,the golden mean talk and the proportions of space along the axis of the pots. I did run on as the demo was simple so i found myself bringing up most any and all issues regarding clay history and current concerns. As i said i enjoyed the audience and the opportunity, it was a little like Sam's enjoyment of the blog, its fact and fantasy.

Tonight as the last kiln cools, hopefully this one will be better reduced than the first) the grads have gone off to get food and drink for a studio farewell party. we both have had such a good time with each of these folks,it will be bitter sweet to celebrate this evening. No doubt Sam will post some more photos of tonight later. i'll take my share as well and pass them on. have a good weekend we're 12hours ahead of you all aand so far the weekend has been promising,hope its the same for you only 12 hours later!
