I just posted the third installment of my online project: Compositional Conversation. The new version of the group project was revised by Beth Carney, an artist from The Big Apple.
The best part of her contribution is that she had not seen pictures of the project before she received the package and she placed the work on her design wall upside down. She did not know her "mistake" until after she had completed her work so now the piece has taken a 180 degree turn. This proves that good design is…

I have just posted an interview with artist/weaver Alice Schlein on my blot: http://studio24-7.blogspot.com. Alice has helped pioneer the use of home computers to design and produce woven materials. She has exhibited her work world-wide and has both authored and co-authored two books on computer aided weave design and is now working on her third book of the same topic.

Professor Emeritus faculty member, Tom Dimond, has work represented in
Ideas Distanced from Objects which is an exhibition currently on view at the Greenville County Museum of Art in Greenville, SC. His painting entitled
Release is part of their permanent collection. Tom taught painting and drawing in the art department. The show runs until July 27.

Kathy Loomis, an artist from Louisville Kentucky, was awarded one of the coolest art prizes around, a trip to Japan to tour and conduct workshops. May 1st marks the opening of BEST OF SHOW, an exhibition of digital prints by artists Robert Lazuka and Helen Hoffelt at the Marcia Evans Gallery. Located at 8 East Lincoln St. in the Short North section of Columbus Ohio, the show will run through June 30th.
