The image I will bring to class will demonstrate Phalle's work and the relationship to Klimt better. Phalle and the sculptor/architect Gaudi (who was just before the Contemporary Movement) both share the decorative, architectural, and linear elements of the referenced A. Nov. artists in our book.

garr..I might need help from someone posting images, the lower one was he only one I could get to post. Artist below is Niki de Saint Phalle. I believe her decorative manner, use of line, pattern, color, is a three dimensional expression similar to artists like Gustav Klimt, above, and the Art Nouveau movement.

Andrew Wyeth

There is a good article about Andrew Wyeth who had died Jan. 16. It's on the NPR site:

Finally, the site for the National Council on Education for the Ceramic Arts, NCECA, is back up and running- Hurray! The site has a much more accessible searching format, a broad span of information, and includes much more imagery/ online gallery-artist information. Please check it out. Cheers")
