Last weekend was my first Art Market in TR! It went really well! I'm signed up for 2 more and I'm going to try to do the Saturday Morning Market in downtown Greenville a few weekends as well. Also, I got a job teaching kindergarten art at the Fine Arts Center next week for an art camp! I'm soo excited! I'll have 2 classes of 16 5&6 year olds! This will be my first test to see if I will make a good art teacher!

thanks for the callback! been meaning to return your call and haven't had time to think straight. The glaze seemed to do fine for the most part. I had a hard time getting it to mature-- I think partly due to the electric kiln being tired and partly due to the glaze being too thin. I'll have to correct that before next time. All seemed to have ended well.

see you at the June anagama? I'm hoping to bust out some new stuff over the weekend and get it out to you all in time.

Hey Hey Lady! While I'm trying to overcome my sadness at missing NCECA this year..... let's try again next year?! Philly, anyone? It doesn't look like (though, who knows, really) my sister will still be living there by next year's NCECA.... I'm game for being a travel buddy, though!

Also, any talk or plans for a bowl a thon? I'd still like to contribute! Even if I can't make it, I can bowl a thon from artbomb.

and...... we should make plans for a martini night sometime soon.... I could use some inspiring art discussion with some super fabulous clay ladies!

Hey Sue! I cannot thank you enough for taking the time to talk the other night! It was so good to sit down and catch up a bit, laugh, reflect, and keep moving forward. Every time I look at your mother's cup, it serves as a reminder for me to pray for comfort in time and clarity. I admire how you continue to work things out in your work! What beautiful expression!
And I just realized why I wasn't getting the Vatagama emails-I hadn't "approved" my membership to the group! Haha! I'm on there now, so please keep me posted-but just in case-celticcreicher@yahoo.com. Thanks!
Have a blessed holiday season! Merry Christmas!!!

Hi Sue! Did anyone take pictures at the firing last weekend? If so can you ask them to post a few? Sorry I couldn't make it, I had (still have) much work to do. Hopefully I 'll catch the spring firing.

Hey Sue!! Just thinking of you... hope things are well! I'm planning on being around for the anagama, but I suspect we'll miss each other as usual. Let me know when you get a free night/weekend. I'd love to show you my new work and discuss (hoping it'll all be finished by Open Studios). I'm starting to get excited about it (that's a good sign, right?) and would love some informed intelligent clay focused feedback. I still miss having you around the studio!!

Take Care!!!

Hey Sue! I have a slew of bowls for you guys! I made them but never got them down to you in time! eak! I'll try and get them down there some time this semester.

Would you have recipe for "homegrown" that you could pass on? I'd like to do some glaze experimentation with it. I'm searching for matte/semigloss cone 6 glazes....any ideas? (though homegrown isn't matte)

Bowl-A-Thon

So hi everyone! We're having the spring bowl-a-thon this Friday - Feb. 8th in the undergrad clay studio - starting around 10 am and running till around 4 pm.

Sam, Trina & Grace have made LOTS of clay and we need - oh - around 300 bowls to be thrown to complete our goal for the annual Soup & Salad Bowl Sale to be held in April. If you know how to throw a bowl, bring your tools and drop by. Come for the whole day - half a day or even just for a few bowls worth of throwing. It all adds up… Continue

I think this is pretty neat, but odd at the same time. Why is it so important to the Japanese to preserve Western art?
