Comment by Heidi Jensen on October 6, 2009 at 9:13pm - Hi Nick -- I like the combinations of the drawings and photographs -- but I think your instincts are right in terms of the contrast between them being on the strong side. I'm wondering if you might be able to use white paint, or white conte crayon, to manipulate the photo surfaces (you could create white linear elements that play off the black lines in the drawings, or work onto some of the complex green shapes). The green surface looks a bit like liquid -- maybe you could play up the relationship between the dishsoap bottle and the background? I like the Joy bottle -- it could be present in the drawing for its text or to add an everyday, non-fantastic element to complement the imaginative nature of the other imagery.
