My best friend - a youth pastor at a large church - was talking with me one day. An idea came up: "What if I taught one night about God's creativity while you painted a large abstract painting?" At first, it was just a fun idea. But then we actually thought it was something worth pursuing. A couple months later, in front of about 200 high school students, my buddy Jason taught about God's creativity while I painted this large abstract painting and another dude mixed and scratched house music.
It was an awesome production. There was a video camera suspended above the canvas while I painted, and the live video was projected on the wall so everyone could see what I was doing (the surface was laying on the floor as I painted). We've got the whole event on video: the house music soundtrack, the process of me painting this thing in an hour, and the teaching on God's creativity and our being made in His image.
